Shot list and analysis for Katy Perry - Firework

Shot 1 - a birds eye shot of a city, slowly panning left, 2 seconds.
Shot 2 - An angled birds eye view, long shot of city, cars can be seen moving, pans left for 3 seconds.
shot 3 - A closer shot of the city, can see cars in more detail, panning left, 3 seconds.

From this shot list, we can see a consistency in the amount of seconds each shot lasts, ranging between 2-4 seconds. These quick, snappy cuts helps to keep the viewer interested and it is edited on the beat with the song, which is fast paced, typical of pop music.
Their are clear small story lines though the video, shown in small shots. There is a variety of story line shots and shots of Katy Perry singing mixed together so the viewer does not get bored.
There are also references used to the lyrics, when Katy is singing about people physically being fireworks, she begins to glow and appears to have sparks coming out of her. From this, you can tell visual references are also important.
