Costume research

Boys costumes:

For the beginning of our music video the boys will be wearing smart, casual wear which keeps in theme of the dinner party scene.
We will buy shirts in advance before the day of filming.
As our music video progresses, the boys shirts will become ripped over time as they get hurt along the way. We will buy about 3 shirts each for the boys and purposely rip and tear them before filming the shot. This will save us time as we can just change their shirts on location.
We are going to base our ideas on something like this:

We have also thought about how to realistically make their faces look injured and have looked on youtube for tutorials. Here's one we found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6_ZoKfm8eA
We will bring the eye shadow and face paint along with us so that we are able to apply it on location.

How to do-
  • Apply a layer of brown eye shadow.
  • Apply black eye shadow on top.
  • Dot a combination of purple and red on top.
  • Blend together.
  • Dab light bits of dark red face paint on top to create blood spots.

Girls costumes:

Like with the boys costumes, the girls will also be dressed in smart, casual wear to fit with the theme.
We are planning to wear jeans with heels and a smart top so that they are dressed up but not over the top and that there is a sense of casual wear.
We have based our ideas similar to The Saturdays outfit choice such as:

As you can see their outfit choices work well together. They wear a lot of bright colours particularly pink and red. This is something we are going to try incorporate in our video.
We also plan to have one or two changes in outfit to vary each shot and keep the audience interested throughout the whole of the music video.
As for the make up for the girls, we are planning to use bright coloured eye shadow and lipstick, similar to The Saturdays make up. Bright coloured make-up will also continue with the theme.
