Feedback from our presentation

We created a Powerpoint to present our ideas for our music video to the class. We have been given feedback to help us when it comes to filming and editing in the future.

1. We were advised to research into the lighting that would be available for us because we are planning to film in the centre of Cambridge at night, we would need to see if street lamps will give us enough lighting for the best quality of footage. If we feel that the lighting in town is not adequate enough then we may need to assess for additional lights.

2. We were also told we should look into how we could apply the make-up for the boys and look for Youtube tutorials on how to make it look like they have reasonably realistic bruises and cuts. We could also find how to make ripped shirts look affective rather than just using scissors and improvising on the day because if anything goes wrong such as the shirt is ripped too much, there will be nothing we can do to sort it.

3. For a lot of the shots in our music video will be us all running. We are planning on getting a variety of different shots for this such as, tracking, panning, and still shots to keep the audience engaged. Someone recommended that we do research on how to use a dolly so that we can get the optimum footage of us running.

4. We are planning on adding a little humorous touch to our music video such as, the main focus will be a 'Tom and Jerry' style chase. It was suggested that we explore editing techniques because we will no longer be using Final Cut, the software we used last year. By looking into editing techniques, we will be able to add variety to our music video which would therefore keep the audience interested. We could look at editing techniques online such as how to split screen and colour editing.

5. It was also suggested that we do a thorough research and analysis of the locations we will be filming in. We will need to find appropriate settings for the dinner party scene and for the town and/ or party scene. We will have to film at the locations at the right time or with the right equipment for lighting purposes and general ambience.
