COUNTRY MUSIC
Carrie Underwood - Good Girl

Costume: She wears a tasselled dress which is very typical country clothing. She also dresses very modest in all her other clothes too.
Colour: The colours used are very bland and simple. In the still, you can see the use of cream and brown colours. They are not very bright but the singer is still the main focus in the image.
Lighting: The lighting throughout the music video is always quite strong on the subject (Carrie). OR the light is directly behind her, so you can see her silhouette clearly.
Location: All locations in this music video are simple rooms, there is no story line to the video. The background of the room usually contrasts with her clothes slightly, but colours usually compliment each other
Make up: Make up is kept innocent and simple, no shocking colours are used.
Props: In a few shots of the music video, Carrie dances with a cane. This shows that she is powerful and now in control, fitting in with the theme of the song.


POP MUSIC
Miley Cyrus - Start All Over

Costume: All of the dancers outfits are bright colours, clashing and look very child-like.
Colour: The colours throughout this video give it a very fun, yet surreal feeling. Through the costume and setting, the multi-coloured balloons help to show this too.
Lighting: The lighting is always bright apart from the begening and end as the music video is supposed to be a 'dream' and starts and ends in Mileys bedroom.
Location: The main location of this music video is on a street party.
Make up: Miley's make up looks very simple, young and fresh-faced. She has extra make-up around her eyes, making them look bigger.
Props: use instruments and a band, bright coloured balloons, bikes, skateboards and circus themed things. All of these items try to make the video fun and exiting.

RAP MUSIC
Kanye West - Power

Costume: Kanye is wearing all black and a large gold chain the entire video. His large chain is there to represent his power, wealth and success. It is almost intimidating to his competition in the rap industry.
Colour: He is wearing all black and is surrounded by black pillars. The only lighter parts in the video are his eyes, his gold chain and some of the women around him.
Lighting: The lighting is very dark, so when something is made to stand out in the video it catches your attention.
Location: Stays in one location, a hallway of pillars. This is like an ancient Rome theme, and Kanye is made to look like a God.
Make up: There is little make up used on Kanye, but on the women around him they are made to look very pale and like they are dead.
Props: The woman are holding staffs beside kanye. This shows his importance ad his 'God-like' presence.
